Whenever I write a column, I enjoy challenging myself with a topic that's "outside the norm," and this particular story that I wrote last year about our collective perception of the end of the world certainly fits that bill. Outside of simply tackling the topic from a practical viewpoint, however, I wanted to examine people's motivations about the idea of "saving the world" and reevaluate whether the current rhetoric surrounding climate change is truly effective for the younger generation, something I accomplished by also adding in more than a little humor as well.
